Reading Scripture Over Against Ourselves
It's easy to put God in a box until we begin reading Scripture over against ourselves.
Thinking Christian reads Scripture as the final authority for life and faith, questioning the assumptions of our culture, even our Christian culture, so that we do not settle for a narrower vision than God's word offers.

The Book
Trajectories: A Gospel-Centered Introduction to Old Testament Theology
The Old Testament is not a separate dispensation, a problem to be resolved by the New Testament, or a collection of moral lessons. It is a coherent witness to the God who is revealed fully in Jesus Christ. The book traces the theological trajectories of the Old Testament forward through the gospel, equipping readers to read both Testaments as one unified Christian Scripture.
Through the Framework
Scripture & Theology and the Sacred-Social Order
Reading Scripture over against ourselves means receiving God's patterns rather than reducing faithfulness to principles we abstract and apply on our own terms. Scripture also exposes the inversions that distort our reading.
