David Gilleland is a former pastor and the author of Holding Hope: A Biblical Guide to Suicide Prevention for Church Leaders. For nearly a decade he served as suicide prevention program manager for the National Guard and the Army Reserves, and he is a master trainer in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). He recently completed certification in biblical counseling.
