Hey everyone, welcome to this episode. I guess it's not really an episode of Thinking Christian, but it is a special announcement. I'm Dr. James Spencer. I just wanted to talk to you a little bit about this German Reformation tour that we have coming up at the end of the year. We're going to be running the tour from October 30th to November 9th, and the booking deadline is May 31st of 2025. Spots are filling up pretty quick, so if you would like more information on the tour, you can check it out at the website linked in this episode. I would just say, I've been over in Germany a number of times now over the last maybe 5, 10 years. I taught study abroad over there in a little town called Regensburg, and we'd often visit Nuremberg or Munich. We'd go over into Austria and Germany, and that part of the world is just a beautiful place to visit in general. But it's so rich in history. And so what the tour is really going to be about, we're going to cover the Reformation. We're calling it a German Reformation tour, so we're obviously going to be covering folks like Martin Luther, and we'll go to Wittenberg. But Germany has a rich history that's a little bit more modern as well. And so we're going to be talking a lot about World War I, World War II, the political environment that really surrounded all of those events, as well as the Christian resistance that came forward with folks like Dietrich Bonhoeffer. I'm going to be running the tour with two other gentlemen, Dr. Greg Quiggle, who is a former professor at Moody Bible Institute and a Reformation expert. And then we're going to be running it with Dr. Michael McDuffie, who's also a former Moody Bible Institute prof. And Michael is really, he lives over in Germany right now, but he is an expert in all things politics and political theology. And so he's amazing to talk to. Just both of them have a wealth of knowledge and they understand Germany, they understand the German history, and they've been there a number of times, so they also know exactly where to eat. So you're going to have a great time on this tour if you choose to go. I'd really encourage you to do so. I'll be talking a little bit about some of the political and theological themes as we go through various points of the tour and really contributing more on the theological side than anything else. But I would just encourage you to come on this tour. It's a lot of fun. It's a great trip. And we're going to make it real special for you guys. And so hopefully you'll check it out. Again, the link to the tour is in the show description. Deadline for booking is May 31st of 2025. I just encourage you to get in, get your spot reserved, and come on the tour with us. We're looking forward to being, spending some time over in Germany and touring some folks around and just getting back together and talking through all these different sites and amazing things that happened that God really did through the reformers, through Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and the lessons that we can learn from modern day to really be a faithful presence in the world that we inhabit. So I just encourage you to check it out. German Reformation Tour 2025, October 30th through November 9th. Deadline May 31st, 2025. Check it out in the show description. Thanks, everybody. Take care.
