Study Tours
Some Things Are Best Understood by Standing There
Thinking Christian collaborates with Quotelos Travel Service on guided study tours to the places where Christian theology was argued, lived, and bled for. These are not sightseeing trips. They are theological pilgrimages led by scholars who know the history and love the church.
Current destinations
England
Trace the English Reformation through Oxford, London, and Cambridge. Walk the halls where Cranmer, Tyndale, and Wesley wrestled with Scripture and shaped the English-speaking church.
Switzerland
Follow Calvin’s Geneva through the Swiss Confederation. Explore Zürich, where Zwingli preached, and the landscapes where Reformed theology took root and grew.
Germany
Stand in Wittenberg where Luther nailed his theses to the Castle church door and the camp where Dietrich Bonhoeffer spent his final days. Visit Erfurt, Eisenach, Berlin, Nuernberg. Walk through the places where the reformation was ignited and the places where the confessing church resisted the Nazi's in WWII.
What to expect
Theological pilgrimages.
Whether you stand in Wittenberg where Luther nailed his theses, trace the English Reformation through Oxford and London, or follow Calvin’s Geneva, these tours put you inside the history that shaped the Christianity you inherited.
Small groups.
Tours are limited to ten participants, small enough for real conversation, deep engagement, and the kind of access that larger groups cannot get.
Scholar-led.
Each tour is led by a historian or theologian who knows the sites, the stories, and the theology behind them. This is not a bus tour with a microphone.
Curated itineraries.
Every stop is chosen for theological significance. You will visit the places where ideas were born, debated, and tested, not just the places that photograph well.
