Genesis 1–11 as Theological Witness
The opening chapters of Genesis carry more theological weight than almost any other passage in Scripture, and they have been read in more ways than almost any other passage. They have been pressed into service in debates over science, gender, race, and origins, sometimes in ways that obscure what the text is actually doing. This series works through the early chapters of Genesis with attention to what the text says on its own terms, how it would have been heard by its first audience, and what it tells Christians about creation, humanity, and the God who made and ordered the world.
